The Indiegogo page for Roll Up the Rim, my upcoming independently published book, is currently malfunctioning. It is not doing the one essential thing it is set up to do: accept contributions to the campaign.
I’ve been working for weeks to get all the pieces in place to make this campaign work. Two and a half days in, almost 90% of the funding was in place. Then, yesterday, against every superstitious instinct in my body, I contacted the editor I’ve hired to tell her I would probably be sending her the manuscript soon. I contacted the printer and told them it looked like the project we had discussed might just come together. I even contacted Ben Brush, the graphic designer, and Steven Berry, the video artist, and told them to send me bills, I’d probably be paying them soon.
On one hand, I know that the universe is not run by jinxes. I don’t really think that letting a little optimism squeak through yesterday is what caused Paypal to malfunction.
On the other hand, if I had it to do over again, I definitely would not write those emails.
I’ll post when things get rectified.
